Gabriella looked at her son through the reflection in the windscreen mirror. She watched his face carefully, and felt his hurt strike her so deeply. Her face creased with concern for him. This was her child, she bore him. And something was hurting him, and that tore her up inside. She wanted to tear apart whoever had done this to him, she wanted to make his world so perfect, so that she could have her baby back. Her little boy. What monster could hurt him. Her heart bled just thinking about any harm coming to him. If only she knew what had happened, if only she knew who had done this to him.. maybe she could change things. But even Gabriella couldn't trust herself that she wouldn't seriously injure the culprit. This is my child. I created him, and I would protect him with my life. she repeated to herself for what must have been the hundreth time. It was becoming such a mantra.

Her determined, brown eyes stared still at Jayson's reflection, and it warped and bubbled as if the mirror was melting. His face changed, to the bright happy boy he had once been. Tears welled up in her eyes, as she recalled everything they had been before. So close. Watching him and his father play catch, catching him snatching a cookie after she had finished baking, and pretending not to notice, reading to him, and watching his face fall innocently into slumber.

With a shot, Gabriella was snatched back into reality. She whipped the tears away from her eyes and looked back at her husband, joining in his laughter half-heartedly, not sure what had been said. Oh Jayson..

Jared shuffled his way along the path leading to the school. His eyes were hidden from the blinding light of the sun behind an oversized pair of dark sunglasses. His mind was a confused whirlpool of the noises around him. Pounding at the inside of his skull, the bitter crescendo of high-pitched laughter, babbling girls, roudy guys, slamming car-doors, music.. and like the deepest of holes, it was never-ending. It just swirled on and on in his head, building and building until he was ready to explode. Jared Moore was sovierly regretting his late-night drinking session last night, that had carried over until just a few hours ago, and had involved his dear friends Vodka and Gin.

The Gin perhaps was not so much his 'style', but it was the first bottle he had gotten his hands on when he was plundering through his fathers secret liquer cabinet. He was amazed he even made it out of bed, but the constant poundings of his father on his bedroom door sure helped. First off, he had actually though it was his brain pounding his skull, but the yelling soon made it obvious who it was. Sliding out of bed, onto his floor, if you could call it that. Then word floor would assume the image of something solid on which to stand, but Jared's room was carpeted with so many empty bottles, clothes, at least one old pizza box and God only knows what else, that the floor - if there was one - was completely invisible, and possibly non-existant. I know that may seem hard to believe now, but if you ever did see it, you might actually agree with the theory that his room is balanced on a never-ending pile of junk.

After pulling on whatever clothes he laid his hands on, he practically fell down the stairs and staggered into the kitchen. His blood-shot eyes pulling their way around the room, while he looked for Coffee. He never really had breakfast, or lunch, but his mother did force them all to sit down and have a 'proper family meal' for dinner. It was really just a sequence of awkward silence broken up by Joe - his father - talking about business stuff.

Covering his eyes with what were probably his mum's glasses, Jared walked almost delireously to school. Only having a few hours sleep, he was having a monsterous come-down. Every now and then, he felt he was about to puke, and muttered "Fuckfuckfuck.." to himself, hoping he wasn't about to puke on someones lawn.

Now at the school, he was wondering how lenient the school's no-smoking policy was.

Having everything around him all blurred and muffled was probably a good thing at this point, as more than a few people had already kindly taken the time to snigger at him, and even a few lovely chaps had thrown more than a few rude words and gestures his way.

Jaine Kross

Jaine nodded slightly and got to her feet. Now standing she realized that something seemed different here to home. She felt lighter. No, that was her head. It felt fuzzy again like it had when she realized where she was. The faded quickly so she paid little attention to it. She heard Blood's voice again and glanced over to who he was talking to.

Maric Hare

Maric looked towards them catching Jaine's eyes before looking back at Blood. "Of course, I'll see you when I get back." He replied. Turning back to Saya.

Mark Tennant

Mark smiled and jumped out of the chair, and willingly took her arm in his own, smiling warmly at her.
"Well then, lead the way my queen..." Mark whispered to her softly.

Tor - The Prince of Hearts

Tor had been sitting away from the rest of the Wonderlanders and newcomers, staring up into the sky, seemingly without a care in the world.

Vivaldi - Queen of Hearts

Vivaldi snapped from her daze, eyes focused on Tor, when Mark spoke to her again. She stared at Mark for a few more seconds before everything clicked in her mind. "Why, yes, of course, my dear."

Gracefully, Vivaldi swept back, and allowed Mark space to leave his seat and follow her. She then extended her arm for him to take while they walked.

Blood Dupre - The Hatter

Hiding a look of deep satisfaction, rather expertly, Blood bowed his head slightly and although he considered helping her to her feet, he decided not to. He had already pinned her as the type of free-spirited girl, who enjoyed her own strength and resented the help of others. Then again, he could be wrong, but that didn't happen often. So he resolved to merely make space for her to get up.

"I'd be happy to escort you." he told her, "Maric," he said to his friend, "I will be taking dear Jaine to the mansion, stay here for as long as you need, but don't get in any trouble." he told him with a wink.

Jaine Kross

Jaine nodded. She knew better then to go against him, say what they want and let them lead you around, it was much easier to handle like that. "Um... We can go now if you want..." She stated. She was curious, plus she planned to remain here for as long as she could. Blood terrified her and yet being beside him she felt safe. She didn't really get it but didn't mind too much.

Mark Tennant

Mark too appeared to be getting impatient. he looked at Vivaldi.
"So erm...Queen Vivaldi, erm, would it be okay if you could show me to your castle now? I dont think it's just me who's starting to get ready to go..." Mark said softly to her, while pointing at some of the others who were getting up.

Blood Dupre - The Hatter

Blood nodded slowly at Maric, his wary gaze passing over The Clock Maker and the Doormouse. As quickly as his eyes moved from Maric to Jaine, his whole expression had changed. He looked upon her lightly, reluctantly relinquishing her firm grasp. "Jaine, when you feel ready to leave here, please do let me escort you to our mansion." he smiled. "Or if you'd prefer otherwise, do feel free to visit."

Melly - The Guest

Melly was quite finished sitting around. The excitement was boiling over. It was time to explore. She stepped away from the table and without any real announcement, began to walk into the surrounding forest. Her hands brushed hypnotically across foliage as she went, staring wide-eyed at every little thing around her. She wondered how deep she would have to go before stumbling across a path or road, for she had no idea about transport in such a place. "I bet they walk everywhere.." she said to herself, weaving through the trees and searching for something more.

Will turned around to look at BLood too.
"Err...y-yeah right!" Will said hastily, nodding, while smiling.

Jaine Kross

Jaine was a little surprised she had almost forgotten he had been so close by. A little hestitantly she took his hand. "Jaine. Jaine Kross." She replied, she felt a rush of happiness as he told her that she may fit in there, plus that she'd be an apt opponent for Tor. "Ah... Thank You...Blood." She replied. She could feel the dangerous aura surrounding him. Even the name sounded dangerous.

Maric Hare

Maric's ears twitched and he turned to Blood. It's fine. Everything is sorted no worries." Maric informed Blood he glanced at Will with his one eye and smiled slightly "Right?"

Blood Dupre - The Hatter

Blood watched Tor back away. There was a mild sign of a smirk on his face with this minor victory, this sign of dominance over the boy. He returned his attention to the girl, smiling from her snapping at Tor. "Perhaps, we share similar enemies, for lack of a better word." he chuckled. "I have no doubt that you would be an apt opponent for Tor; you'll fit in well here."

"Blood." he said offering a hand.

He stopped as he heard his name across the table, he looked up to his dear friend, "Maric?" he said simply, not all that loud, knowing his companion would hear. He needed to know there was no trouble.
